Meet the Candidates: Jay Lorah - Co Chair

My name is Jay Lorah and I am looking to be a co chair on the board because I have found this organization to be very valuable to the small and or beginner farmer like myself. Like most beginners, my wife, 8 children and I started 7 years ago with hens for eggs, then added broilers, next turkeys and then pigs. Next year hopefully we will add cows.

I have learned a lot through this organization and I believe it can be even better by creating new and expanding old programs. Events that allow information and knowledge sharing, providing ways to access equipment affordably and obtaining discounts through bulk buys. Times are rough right now with the cost of feed and supplies going up and up but hopefully by pooling resources and helping our fellow farmer we can get through it together and stronger.
